Brown Fires 68 on Cold, Windy Day @ Lincoln West; Points Double for Major #1 Next Weekend

Chris Brown, a scratch player from N. Texas, would have made Old Tom Morris proud with his 3 under par 68. The great game of golf was created in Scotland, where 45 degree temperatures and windy conditions are part of the game. Amazingly, all 28 players showed up for the 10am start where the temperature was 38 degrees and a biting 25mph north wind had players scrambling for cart covers and heaters...something Old Tom Morris did without. Our policy will always be if the course is open, we play. After all, this is a serious professional golf tour...what about the bad weather players? Yesterday was their big chance and Chris Brown, the lowest handicapper in the field (0.4), was that guy as he took ADVANTAGE of the conditions to score his first victory in 9 tries on the tour and shoot his lowest score! Great job, Chris. Next weekend will be our first 2-Day Event of the year with Major #1 scheduled for Tangle Ridge Golf Club in Grand Prairie, TX. Points will be worth double for this event as players will receive 10 points for paying deposit or full entry fee online and 10 points for participating. The top 5 finishers will receive double points for performance...1st 100 2nd 80 3rd 60 4th 40 5th 20. If Major #1 winner had 0 points he could earn enough to jump all the way to 5th place in the race to the Red River Cup, currently projected to pay close to $10,000 in BONUS CASH to top 10 points winners!...Register now to secure your spot, which pays minimum $5,000 to the winner with 36 or more players.
