2008 Off To Windy Start As Proctor Holds Off Higgins At Winter Creek CC

Tony Proctor, a 3.2 handicap from OKC, redeemed himself after a poor showing in the last Major of 2007 by making birdies on three of the first five holes in 2008 to win the year's first event with a net score of 70.8. The fast start held off Winter Creek member Jeff Higgins, the 2.9 handicapper finished 1.3 strokes back at 72.1 in a round that featured an eagle on the par 5 fifth hole. Both players separated themselves from the field with their consistent play under very windy conditions. Doug Lillard was the top Senior finisher as the 7 handicapper continues his improved play with a third place score of net 75 that included a solid 40 on the back nine despite bogeys on the final 2 holes.
