Swanson wins at Waterchase; Super Major #2 @ Cowboys GC entry deadline is May 11th!

John Swanson fired a gross score of 76 under difficult conditions Sunday at Waterchase GC to get his first win on the FairWay Tour with a net score of 69.7. Affectionately known as PGA Swanny, the former Head Pro from Gleneagles CC finally breaks through after 41 rds on the tour and too many close calls to count! Congratulations John! The win earned him a total of $1970 and 70 Red River Bonus Points. There is now $9705 in the pool! The FairWay Tour would like to recognize Kelci Gonzales from West Texas as an example of sportsmanship and integrity on the tour. Kelci hit his ball into the hazard right of #9 fairway Sunday and thought he had located his ball and hit it toward the green. He continued until his ball reached the green where he realized it, in fact, was not his ball. Kelci called the foul on himself which basically took him out of the hunt to cash a check. This is what makes the game of golf so great is the integrity of those who participate! Our next event is the NORTHERN Challenge in Woodward, OK, a 2-day mini major at our northernmost venue. This is a tricky and hilly course with small, undulating bent grass greens. The tour will take the weekend of May 12-13 off for Mother's Day before returning to Dallas and Dallas Cowboys Golf Club for Super Major #2, which will pay the winnner $10,000 (w/44+ players)! Fox Sports Southwest's Access Golf will be there to feature the tour and we hope you will be there too because "IF YOU DON'T TEE IT UP YOU CAN'T WIN!" DEADLINE TO ENTER IS MAY 11TH.
