Grossart edges Dobbs at Tierra Verde; Silverhorn June 3rd in Oklahoma and The Old American, site of recent 2012 U.S. Open Qualifier June 9th at 40% discount!

Don Grossart and Glenn Dobbs were the hot golfers on Sunday at Tierra Verde GC in Arlington, TX. Grossart, a 1.8 handicap, fired a gross score of 3 under par 69 to take the winner's check that totaled $2192 from the field of 47 players and was almost exactly ten times his entry fee! Dobbs, who spends alot of his time calf roping, fired a gross score of 77 with a 9.7 handicap to collect a total total of $1090. A quick check of the math reveals Grossart getting the win by a mere 1 tenth of a stroke...the difference being Grossart's birdie on 18 that followed his birdie on 17. His win became official when Dobbs, playing in one of the final pairings, missed a five footer on the last hole that would have given him the victory. A net score of 74.2 was good enough to cash a check in this event. The FairWay Tour received some awesome exposure when Fox Sports taped a segment about the tour on its golf show that airs every Saturday morning at 11am and is called "Access Golf". JefF Power, the show's producer, did a wonderful job portraying what the tour is all about. Herb Joiner, Jonathan Hart, Brad Barrick, Jay Singley, Jeremy Copeland and others were interviewed and taped playing for the Big Bucks during Super Major #2. Check the website soon to see the video. We are proud to announce our next event in Texas will be at The Old American Golf Club in The Colony, TX, site of the recent 2012 U.S. Open Qualifier. Needless to say, the course is in awesome shape and is also sporting a new clubhouse. Even better news...FairWay Tour players will receive a 40% discount from the normal $125 rate ($75!) to play this course. Don't miss out on the opportunity to play a course the USGA recognizes as one of the finest in Texas. There is now almost $12,000 in BONUS CASH up for grabs in the points race as we near the season's halfway point. There is nothing but great golf on the horizon with events scheduled in June at The Old American, Rose Creek CC and the 27-hole Iron Man Event @ WinStar. July brings Super Major #3...54 holes of golf over 3 days at Pete Dye's 5-star Paiute Resort and Major #4 at Sugartree GC in Weatherford TX. If that's not enough try Super Major #4 in early August at another Pete Dye track, Stonebridge CC's Dye Course! The Las Vegas event is worth triple points while all the others are worth double points except for the 1-Day event at The Old American. In short, it's not too late for anyone to make a run at the minimum $5000 bonus check to be written to the Red River Cup Points Winner and a significant amount of bonus cash totaling a projected $25,000 to be paid to the other top 20 points winners. we hope to see you at our next event because "If you don't tee it up you can't win!"
