Sloat takes home more than $12,000 with net score of -2.1 at Stonebridge CC; Policy changes and updates

Dustin Sloat of Edmond, OK lit up Stonebridge CC with a gross score of 3 under par 69 on Saturday and held on Sunday for his first Major win on the FairWay Tour. The event paid almost $40,000 and Sloat picked up more than $12,000 of that purse! Great job Dustin! The FairWay Tour has not made a change or updated its policy and procedure for over three years. Our policy lately has been "don't fix something that isn't broken". However, in the best interest of the tour and its members and in an effort to be proactive in dealing with future issues, the following policy updates are EFFFECTIVE IMMMEDIATELY. 1.) Elite Player Policy: Players with an established handicap of 1.0 or lower must play in at least three 1-Day Net events or 2 Majors prior to June 30th each year to be eligible for any Major after June 30th. If an elite player signs up for the tour after June 30th, he will become eligible for majors once he participates in three 1-Day Net events. *This policy does not apply to anyone who has already played an event in 2012. 2.) Plus handicap policy: Players with a plus handicap will have a ceiling of +3 instead of +2. 3.) Loyal player Reward Policy: Players who record 20 tournament rounds on the FairWay Tour during a calendar year will have their low score deleted from their history upon recording their 20th round. The first policy is now in place so elite players who have not supported the tour will be ineligible for big money events the second half of the year until they get some FairWay Tour rounds under their belt. The second policy update is in place simply because upgrades in balls and equipment and a boom in golf thanks to Tiger Woods since the original policy and procedure was put in place in 2000. The third policy update is the tour director's favorite and is for loyal FairWay Tour players. Handicap relief will come once a player has recycled their scoring history within a calendar year. * If a player WD's from an event that round will not count! These policy updates are in the best interest of core FairWay Tour members and are now in place to further protect the field for future events...We hope to see you at our next 1-Day Net event, hosted by Bridlewood GC in Flower Mound, TX on Sunday, August 12th. Tee times begin at 10AM and course fees are almost half price for tour players at only $49! Come join us because "IF YOU DON'T TEE IT UP YOU CAN'T WIN!"
