-2.7 wins at Bridlewood as -11 leads after Day 1 of NTPGA Event at same golf course; Compare payouts too!

The FairWay Golf Tour congratulates Curtis Crabtree, winner of Sunday's event at Bridlewood GC! Curtis fired an even par 72 for a net score of -2.7 to take home a check for $1360! So far in 2018, the weather has not been very cooperative for golfers...or golf tour directors! This event was originally scheduled for Thorntree CC, but flooding closed the course so we made the last minute change to Bridlewood. As it turned out, Sunday was sunny but wet and there was no wind. The bunkers were out of play and the ball was played "UP" thru the green! Nevertheless, a net score of -2.7 got the win! Yesterday at the same golf course, the NTPGA held a winter series event for gross scores only. The leader fired an 11 under par 61 and there were four players who shot 8 under or lower! I certainly hope there is no golfer out there who knows about the FairWay Tour but doesn't play because we use handicaps! If you haven't got the memo yet, handicap events on the FairWay Tour always have higher winning scores! And once again, the proof is right in front of you. If you can shoot 3 over your handicap, you cash a check in nearly every single event so far in 2018. If that isn't enough, let's consider the cash payouts...Curtis makes $1360 with 16 players at Bridlewood and an entry fee under $300. On the NTPGA website, you will find that at Firewheel you would need a top 3 finish with a full field and fire a gross score of 9 under par to cash a check for $1405.00. And the entry fee for that event was $450!! C'mon man!! And I repeat..C'mon, man!! Saturday in Houston, a net score of +5.5 cashed and Ramiro Martinez got his first win in 2 years with a net score of 71.8 on the par 72 Panther Trail CC layout. This is the first red number on the FairWay Tour in Houston since June 2017! Congratulations Ramiro!! This week, the Tour goes to Oakmont CC in Corinth, TX Thursday afternoon and Oak Tree East CC in Edmond, OK Saturday! We hope to see you on the FairWay Tour because..."If you don't tee it up you can't win!
