Singley Edges Van Horn With Net Score of 72 @ Rose Creek GC

Congratulations to Jay Singley of OKC, who fired a net score of even par 72 under windy conditions at Tour 18-Rose Creek GC in Edmond, OK Saturday. The 2 handicapper won a total of $735 from the field of 11 players in large part due to a front nine 36...good enough to win the front nine nassau. His back nine 38 included a 10 footer for birdie on the last hole, which proved to be the difference maker over Van Horn, a +2.1 handicapper who played a beautiful round with a gross score of 70 under difficult conditions. This event turned out in favor of the low handicappers mainly because of the windswept links style course as Rieck, a 0.9 handicap finished third with a net score of 75.1. The Tour will take a month off after Super Major 2 at Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club on Lake Texoma Dec. 4th and 5th and resume play Saturday, January 15th, 2011... 2010 was a successful season with over 40 events and more than $200,000.00 paid to its members. Since this money is paid in one flight and the Tour's 1-Day Net Scoring Average in 2010 with 594 rounds is currently 77.56, your earning potential is greater than ever on our tour. More events, better payouts and proper administration of the USGA Handicap System will continue to make the FairWay Tour the choice of serious golfers in the region. We appreciate your support and look forward to providing quality competition, and lots of it, in 2011!
