SUPER CLOSE; Copeland Edges Aycock to Win Super Major 2

Jeremy Copeland, longtime player from Edmond, OK who has logged over 200 rounds since August 2003 on the FairWay Tour, ended his frustrating 2010 season with a bang by capturing a first place check of $5125 Sunday afternoon at Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club. Persistence paid off as he had participated in three previous majors and nine one day events in 2010 and cashed a total of $735 prior to this event. Copeland posted his score of 143.2 on the par 144 layout and waited anxiously in the clubhouse for the lead group to arrive on the 18th green at the picturesque venue. Paul Aycock was in command most of the day after overnight leaders Michael Reinhardt (68.7) and Wes Neesham (69.7) faltered on the front nine. Aycock, however, could not close the deal as he missed an 8 ft. par putt on the 17th and failed to birdie the 18th to finish 2nd by one tenth of a stroke at 143.3. His consolation prize totaled $3550, which included first place in the 2-Day Sr. Net. This event went true to form as the winning score of -0.8 was higher than the avg. winning score of -2.4 and Reinhardt's 5th place finish of +5.3 was higher than the avg. last place money winner of +4.8.
