Bean survives fierce winds at Bridlewood to win $1180 with net score of +2

Kyle Bean has played 27 times on the FairWay Tour since February of 2010 and got his first win Saturday at Bridlewood with a net score of +2. The golf course became close to unplayable for a brief period as winds gusted around 50 mph when a cold front blew through North Texas just about the time the first group headed to the tee box. Kyle beat Chris Brown by 1 stroke to claim the victory with 18 players braving the conditions. Interestingly, Kyle had the highest handicap in the field at 11.0 and Chris, an Adams Tight Lies Tour winner earlier this year, had the lowest at +1.0. Chris had an incredible round of even par working thru 17 holes but double bogeyed the nearly impossible 18th, a par 4 at 466 yds playing about 600 yds into a 35-50 mph north wind, to give Bean the victory. There is $9740 in the Red River Cup Bonus Pool with one event remaining. Major #6, the Red River Cup Championship, will be held Dec 3-4 at Chickasaw Pointe GC on Lake Texoma and we hope to see you there because "If you don't tee it up you can't win!"
