Gibson wins $4415 in style at Rose Creek

Rhein Gibson has found his golf game. The young man from Australia made worldwide news earlier this year by recording the lowest round of golf in history, which landed him in the Guiness Book of World Records. On Saturday, he was 10 strokes off his world record pace of 55 with a gross score of 65...but was still good enough for the win at Rose Creek GC!! Rhein added two strokes to his gross 65 to give him a net score of 67, which edged out another young plus golfer, Andrew Green, who added 4 tenths of a stroke to his gross score of 67 for a second place finish at the defenseless Rose Creek GC. 2 days of rain softened the course and greens, which were rolling true, and there was no wind which gave way to some very low scores. The younger generation of golfers are starting to leave their mark on the game and with that will come policy changes in 2013...Stay tuned for the details. For the record, 10 spots were paid Saturday with 5 players having a handicap less than zero and five with handicaps greater than zero getting a check. Our next event will be this Sunday at Tangle Ridge GC followed by Major #5, The FairWay Tour Invitational at Dornick Hills CC in Ardmore, OK. Please contact Tour Director if you wish to play at Dornick regarding eligibility for this event, which has some restrictions. We hope to see you at our next event because "If You Don't Tee It Up You Can't Win!"
