GC of Dallas this coming Saturday; Beautiful Weather for Castle Hills and Thorntree but torrential downpour shortens Wildcat to 9 hole event

The FairWay Golf Tour had four events this past week and would like to congratulate our winners. TJ O'Rourke became the first 2-time winner on tour this year as he won the event at Wildcat GC in Houston using a great front nine score and a little bit of luck. The last group was finishing the 15th hole when threatening skies became the heavieast and lengthiest downpour I have ever seen! TJ had just doubled the 16th and bogeyed the 17th to lose his lead when the event was called off...People were going the wrong way on major interstates as they were flooded and the roads underneath the highways were becoming impassable. In Dallas, by the way, the weather was perfect at Castle Hills on Thursday where Tyler Womack finally broke through and got a win. And ditto in West Texas, where 4-yr tour vet Ted Albrecht finally got his first win. On Sunday at Thorntree CC, what did Brown do to you as Justin Brown and Chris Brown finish first and second. This was also Justin Brown's first win...So to recap the week, the tour had 3 first time winners - and our first repeat winner...but we will attach an asterisk as the Houston fields have been 15-25 players and the 2nd event he won was shortened by the rain! But this also proves the smaller the field, the better chance you have of winning the event!! We hope to see you next Saturday at GC of Dallas because "If you don't tee it up you can't win!"
