'Senior Day' in Bossier City as Joiner wins 1-Day Major #5

Congrats to Herb Joiner, winner of 1-Day Major #5 and a total of $4465 with a field of 31 players in Bossier City Labor Day Weekend. This event was dominated like no other in recent memory by the senior competitors, who obviously enjoyed the benign and hot conditions along with generous landing areas. The short, but challenging course was in perfect condition as was the weather for the 29th consecutive event since the rainout at Wildcat GC back in April! There has been a GRAND TOTAL of 1 event with adverse playing conditions this year and that was Bridlewood GC on March 10th. The winning score? 75.4. Since then, we have had a summer full of sunshine and no wind for every single event except Wildcat, which is unprecedented in the tour's 12 year history. As a result, the scoring average and handicaps on the tour have dropped more than any other year! It will be interesting to see what the scoring looks like moving forward as we finish the year with hopefully some "FALL" weather and alot of low handicaps!! The tour plays three difficult courses this week in Texas Star Thursday, High Meadow Ranch Saturday and Thorntree CC on Sunday. We hope to see you there because "If you don't tee it up you can't win!"
