Brownell Wins Major 5; Only Player To Break Handicap

For the third consecutive event the FairWay Golf Tour paid a winner who was the only player to break net par. Congratulations to Mike Brownell of Bartlesville, OK, who collected $2130 by shooting a 36 - Hole total of 143.1...9 tenths of a stroke under his hcp. Mike hit his driver well both days, a must on the 7,380 yd University of Oklahoma layout. You never know what might happen in this crazy game as Mike thought he would show up and "donate" after the six handicapper finished in 17th pl. out of 22 golfers in the last event at Rose Creek August 16th.
