Rezentes fires even par to win $6855 at Coyote Ridge! Sky Creek Ranch Thursday boasts new greens!

7 year FairWay Tour vet Zach Rezentes fired gross scores of 73-71 on the par 144 layout at Coyote Ridge to win the 2nd Super Major of 2018 and $6855! Zach has been playing the tour since 2011 and collected his first Super Major win and his largest check as a pro golfer on any tour! Congratulations Zach! The story of this event was, once again, the scores. Zach's net score of 143.8 cleared the field by almost 5 shots as a 4 over 148 got 2nd place and 6 over cashed! Yes, those are NET SCORES! I wish there was something I could tell you about the course that made it overly difficult, but there just isn't. The conditions Saturday were nearly perfect and we also played the ball "UP" in fairways and bunkers, as Kurt Franke took a commanding lead with a net score of 67.7. Granted, Sunday was windy and Kurt was not able to hold his lead. Playing partner Rezentes, who needed to beat Kurt by 10 shots Sunday when you include their handicaps, birdied the first 2 holes and never looked back while firing a 1 under par 71 in the wind. The great round got Zach his biggest payday since joining the Tour!! To put that into perspective, Zach has played many of our largest events to date, but it was a 20 player Super Major that got him his biggest ever payday as a pro! The FairWay Tour never is concerned about the size of its field for any event. If that were the case, we would have 30 events instead of 70. Simple math tells you there is a give and take at these events. With 20 players, your chances of actually winning a handicapped event are much higher than with 60 players, but the payout might not be quite as good (Zach would likely tell you different!). Our goal is to provide tournament rounds so players can improve their game through competition while meeting new friends, not necessarily filling up each and every event. We have roughly 70 events and 10 Super Majors each and every year, which provides our members the opportunity to compete over and over again. The unprecedented number of events could lead to a few smaller, more intimate fields...but also should lead to better golf for our members! Whether it is a 20 player Super Major or a 65 player Super Major, this tour prides itself on high quality events where players get their paycheck at the end of the competition! I'm certain Zach enjoyed his 2 days of golf at Coyote Ridge...and his paycheck for $6855! Are you the next Zach Rezentes? We hope to see you at the course because..."If you don't tee it up you can't WIN!"
