Romo Finishes Third As Darby Spoils Carpenter's Bid For Back To Back Victories At TPC Four Seasons; Limited Space for Lantana Thursday!

The FairWay Tour hosted back to back events at TPC Four Seasons last week and both were a success despite the February weather! Last Wednesday, the first ever Surf And Turf Pro Series Event was held and 32 players showed up to brave the chilly temperatures and cold rain. Alex Carpenter managed a 1 over par 71 to clear the field by three strokes as Tony Romo finished third at this event. The players enjoyed teeing it up with the likes of Romo and Deron Williams, a former All Pro point guard in the NBA. As if upper 40s and rain were not enough, the 1-Day Super Major the next day was more of the same, with the wind kicking up to 20mph. But that did not stop 47 players from taking their shot at the $8250 first place check! There were also several players who tried their game out at both events. Ronnie Darby made a mess of his round Wednesday but showed up Thursday anyway and cashed the largest check of his career with a net score of 72.5 getting 3.5 strokes! Meanwhile, steady Alex Carpenter wins the Wednesday event with a 1 over 71 and fired the same 1 over 71 Thursday, which ended up in 2nd place by less than a stroke! Nevertheless, Alex made nearly 7 grand for 2 days of golf at TPC. A net score of +8.5 cashed a check! By comparison last week, the Gross Score event Wednesday produced a winning score of 1 over par 71 and a 6 over par 76 cashed a check with 32 players. The NET score event Thursday produced a winning score of +2.5 and +8.5 cashed a check with 47 players. After several bad weather events held by the NTPGA and last week's weather at TPC, the Tour has postponed the next Pro Series Event until March 4th at Hackberry Creek. If your game is not quite ready for scratch (and even if it is!), be sure to join us THIS THURSDAY at Lantana GC. The weather looks gorgeous for that event and the long range forecast shows beautiful weather for the back to back Hackberry Creek events next Wednesday and Thursday! We hope you can join us soon for our high quality events because..."If you don't tee it up you can't WIN!"
