FGT Mourns The Loss Of John Swanson; Tierra Verde Next Thursday

With our deepest sorrow, the FairWay Tour announces the loss of John Swanson. John was a larger than life figure on the FairWay Tour. Deeply loved by all who met him, John always wore a smile and was the consummate competitor. He finished fifth place just last week at Bridlewood. It was John who suggested we should start having Thursday events back in 2012. It turned out to be a very popular move as we have now been doing almost weekly Thursday events for 7 years. John was just 57 years old. We will miss you Swanny...Godspeed my friend! In other news, the FairWay Tour had its largest event in several years last THURSDAY at Bridlewood GC, where 79 players teed it up for the 1-Day Major! Brad Golden (+1.1 hcp) of OKC fired a 6 under par 66 in 30mph wind for a net score of 67.1 to get the win by nearly 2 strokes. Brad collected $4700 for one day of golf! The Surf & Turf Pro Series had its second ever event as well at Bridlewood last Wednesday. Mark Walker and Hayden Springer each shot 5 under par 67's to tie for first place in the 17 player field. Six of the 17 players fired 70 or better compared to only 4 of the 79 players shooting a NET Score of 70 or better the very next day! We hope you are able to participate in our upcoming events! We will round out the month of May with events next Thursday at Tierra Verde, the third Surf & Turf Pro Series Wednesday, May 27th at Gleneagles and Super Major #2 @ Coyote Ridge the weekend of May 30-31. We hope you are able to join us for our high quality events because..."If You Don't Tee It Up You Can't WIN!"
